My greatest pleasure is reclaiming that playful child that never left me but was cast into time-out for decades. As I grew up and took on the responsibilities of being a self-sufficient adult and diligent parent, she hid in the outreaches of my body, close but clandestine.

Now that child is free to roam again, with time to play and create, mostly with my old friends — words. They pour out of me when curiosity taps me on the shoulder, luring me into exploring something interesting.

I share some of those chatty old friends with you here, hoping they will rekindle that child hiding in all of us, waiting to play.
